About Cal Dowdell

Cal Dowdell in front of 44 Auto Mart in Elizabethtown, KY

I'm Cal Dowdell. I sell used cars in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

I work at 44 Auto Mart, 1403 N Dixie Hwy, Elizabethtown, KY 42701 (270-765-2886, 44automart.com). The guides on this site are general information, not advice from the dealership, and they aren't legal advice.

Willow the corgi — Willow, my corgi and chief morale officer.

I started this site because the same questions keep coming up: how the title transfer works, what the 6% tax is based on, and how to buy safely from a stranger. The official answers are spread across state and county websites, so I pulled them together in plain English with links to each source.

Because I sell cars, I have an interest in car sales. I try to keep the guides useful whether you buy from me, from someone else, or from a private seller. See the affiliate disclosure.
